Be Compassionate: Someone needs it

One of the most impactful ways we can share God’s heart with others is by living compassionately.

•  To show compassion is to put yourself in other people shoes;

• To show compassion is to step outside of yourself and love another in times of weakness.

• To live compassionately is to posture your heart continually toward giving grace and love to those who need it most.

You see; Instead of us condemning those addicted to stealing, lying, pornography, cheating and anger, let us put ourselves in their shoes.

• How do they feel when one is not in control of themselves anymore?

• How does it feel do be forced to do something when one has no interest in doing so?

• How does it feel to be in control of the flesh and not know how to control or tame it?

           How do those people feel?

Very little stirs my heart to God more than compassion.

How beautiful would it be when someone sees me in my imperfection and chooses to love me rather than cast me aside to condemn me:

My affection for them and God is automatically stirred.

Oftentimes the world and sadly, sometimes Christians are too busy or self-focused to show compassion. We get too caught up in our plans, our needs, school work, reputation and our image to see the hurting in the lives of others.

But fam, God is calling all of us to a life lived humbly and sacrificially.

Philippians 2:4  says:

“Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”

•  The world is in desperate need of compassion.

• People are in desperate need of compassion.

They might not tell it, they might not say it; but they are in desperate need of it.

• People need mercy and grace when they fail,

• People need help and compassion when they show weakness, or are experiencing hard times.

God’s heart is to use us that we might show mercy and grace as a reflection of his unconditional love. He’s calling us  as Christians to be light in darkness that the world might see in us the compassionate heart of our heavenly Father.

It’s for this reason Paul writes in :

Ephesians 4:32: “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

You can forgive because you’ve been forgiven.

• You can be kind because your Father has been nothing but kind to you.

• You can love others because God first loved you

• You can be understanding to others because God first understood your pain without condemnation.

•  And you can be tender hearted because God was so tender in heart toward you.

God was so compassionate that he gave us life to free us, empower us, strengthen us, and ground all of us in his grace and love. So let's:

Take time in guided prayer to receive a fresh revelation of God’s kindness, tenderness, and forgiveness.

• Take time in guided prayers to intercede for those around you that are in pain and are frustrated.

• Let us all take time to say a word of prayer for those that have missed the right path.

THEY NEED US; THEY NEED OUR PRAYERS.

Prayer: Abba Father open my heart and transform me to be more like you. Let your heart become like my own Lord. Give me the grace to live every day in response to your  love by showing compassion to others that are in need of it.

Amen! Did you enjoy it? Then, check out more devotions!
