What's in your Bank?

  Anchor Scripture: This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read [and meditate on] it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be successful. (Joshua 1:8) The bank we are discussing about is definitely not the physical bank we go to almost everyday; it's not the one we make physical deposits to; this bank is called a SPIRITUAL BANK . A spiritual bank operates exactly like the physical banks we go to; we make daily, monthly or even yearly deposits and when its time to use the money stored we quickly make a withdrawal. I read a story in a novel about a pilot who landed a plane safely despite the threatening weather situations around him; he was later asked about those moments when he was faced with a life-death decision. He replied: I've been making small and regular deposits in the bank of experience, education and training;

God's mercy towards us

Image
  Has any of us ever considered the subject of MERCY ? Ever sat down and noticed places in the bible where the Mercy of God was a subject? Without doubt , we are often insulted and hurt when our friends, family members, class mates or even course mates fail to be merciful towards to us.  I'm sure at times we have admitted our wrongdoings or neediness to our loved ones yet they fail to demonstrate any ounce or bit of compassion and to be honest those times are very noticeable. You send a message: "I need HELP" , still The person ignores your message and moves on like he or she never read a thing. I know, it hurts like crazy....we have all been in these situations before; asking for forgiveness ; asking for help; asking for simple understanding.  And after all these what do we receive at the end? Judgmentalism & Condemnation ; they both go hand in hand; and the natural human nature is very prone to these two. Before we proceed further;  What exactly is Mercy ; why is

Hey! God is with you

  Anchor Scripture: "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." (Isaiah 43:2) This topic serves as a reminder that God is unequivocally with you. Even during the storm, the Lord God Almighty is by your side. For those who keep His commandments, the Lord will defend them amid trouble. Allow me to share another personal story; I had just graduated from high school, and it was undoubtedly not an easy journey. My initial thought was that starting secondary school was the real challenge, but fam, that was not the real deal at all; wrapping it up was the true challenge. I sat for my Senior School Leaving Examination (WAEC), and the devil did not make it easy. There were numerous temptations, beautiful and tempting options presented to me throughout the exam period. It was tough; I cried, wept, and groaned. I felt

Tough Conversations about Life

  Anchor Scripture: Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matthew 6:19-21) A few months ago, as I scrolled through my Google photos, I saw beautiful and loving memories. In some pictures, I stood with my mom in the kitchen, smiling, while in others, I snapped right on the balcony, just enjoying the day. At those moments, I was trying to make that house our home, though a small building, but to me at that time, it was my forever home. But that was years ago. Today, my mom and I live in a completely different area and in an absolutely different house. The fun part about this is someone else is currently living in what used to be my mom and my freshly painted, newly floored, and cleaned house. Hmm, here is the lesson
