Rejection

Image
We all relish congratulatory emails, messages, and speeches, basking in the sense of acceptance and joy that elevates us to cloud nine. The excitement makes us squeal, jump, and shout to express our inner feelings. On the flip side, the feeling of rejection is quite the opposite. It hurts to be turned away by our favourite person, a prestigious company, a highly esteemed college, or even our dear family. REJECTION , in essence, is not being chosen, being turned away, or not being accepted. I  experienced rejection as an applicant for the Rise program 2022. Despite putting in my best efforts, sacrificing time and conducting rigorous research, I received their rejection email. The message stated that I was a very good candidate but didn't make it to the winners' list. This rejection left me heartbroken and questioning my every move in the application process.  Did I not do well enough? Was I not worthy of being chosen as a winner? Was my passion and determination lacking?   At

Is your heart broken? 💔

Anchor Scripture: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed" [Psalm 34:18] Dear family, If you find yourself answering yes to this question, take heart, for this message is not just for me but for everyone who bears a broken heart due to various circumstances. In the Gospel, we witness Jesus performing powerful healing miracles. Yet, there is another kind of ailment He came to heal—the illness of a broken heart. Earlier this year, I faced a situation that left me feeling like I was in the worst stage of my life. Hurt, heartbroken, and in agony, I thought I was in a living hell. But Jesus healed me, making this challenging period one of the greatest testimonies of my life. " Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest ," Jesus declared. He beckoned me to let Him heal me, assuring me that He is the Great Physician, ready to touch me at the point of my pain. A broken heart may not be visible t

How can I love like Jesus?

Image
Anchor Scripture: "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." [Galatians 2:20] Loving like Jesus can seem like an overwhelming task, even an impossible one when we recognize our human limitations. I faced a similar dilemma when a friend was grappling with family issues. I desired to love, serve, and stand by my friend, yet I felt the weight of my own inadequacies. Questions flooded my mind: Was I strong enough to handle it? Could I commit fully to supporting my friend? Was I at risk of burning out or getting my heart broken? We, as humans, are flawed, sinful, and limited. The Bible calls us to be Christlike. But the question lingers: Are we truly strong enough to lay down our lives for our friends? In many ways, the answer is no. We are human, prone to errors, and far from perfection. Reflecting on a meme featuring a letter from a 5-

A clean slate

Anchor Scripture: "Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of sin" [Romans 4:8] I clearly remember a scene in a popularly known Christian series called : " Abbattoir" , in this scene a man who is known to be a murderer and ritualist in the movie was being preached to about Christ by his son who has long forgiven him, but in midst of their conversation, he made a striking statement: "How can a righteous man like Jesus forgive a filthy man like me?" 'What did i really do to deserve his forgiveness?" Majority of us have probably thought like this sometime back, some of us even currently think like this :( You think you are not worthy of forgiveness, especially not from such a righteous man. You think God can never forgive you for the things you have done, watched or said. But that is an absolute lie;  A lie from the pit of hell, a lie devised to steal away your sanity and joy. A lie that is standing between you and your salvatio

Take off your mask!

Image
" But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners " [Romans 5:8]. We have probably seen movies that depict a man with a mask. " Masked " would probably be a good title. The mask portrays the individual as a smiling face to others, but right behind that same mask is reality - a " sad man "  This description applies to many individuals in the world, including in our kingdom (this includes us teens). We tend to say we are completely okay, while behind that mask, we are completely shattered and broken. We tend to say that all is well with us, but behind that mask, there is nothing that makes sense for you or in your life. This message is not only describing others but also me as well. Once upon a time, " I also hid behind a mask. " The Bible says, “ God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us ” (Romans 5:8).
